Ingredients

The Ice Cream Base:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

The "Fried Chicken" Coating:

  • 2 cups cornflakes crushed into small pieces
  • ½ cup crushed cookies graham crackers or vanilla wafers work well
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional, for added flavor

The Chocolate Layer (Optional):

  • ½ cup melted white chocolate or caramel
  • A few drops of food coloring yellow or brown to mimic fried chicken’s golden crust

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Ice Cream Base

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • No ice cream maker? Pour into a freezer-safe container and stir every 30 minutes until thick and creamy.
  • Once ready, scoop ice cream into small drumstick shapes using gloved hands or an ice cream scoop.
  • Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 2 hours until firm.

2️⃣ Make the "Fried Chicken" Coating

  • Crush cornflakes and cookies into small pieces using a food processor or a zip-top bag and rolling pin.
  • Mix in brown sugar and cinnamon (if using) for extra flavor.
  • Spread the coating mixture on a shallow dish for easy rolling.

3️⃣ Coat the Ice Cream

  • Remove frozen ice cream shapes from the freezer.
  • Roll each piece in the "fried chicken" coating, pressing lightly to help it stick.

For extra crunch and realism:

  • Dip coated ice cream in melted white chocolate or caramel.
  • Immediately roll again in the coating mixture.
  • Return the coated ice cream pieces to the tray and freeze for another hour to set.

Notes

For a realistic look: Use food coloring in the chocolate layer to get a golden-brown “fried” appearance.
For extra crunch: Add chopped nuts to the coating.
Make it a prank: Serve this on a plate with real chicken bones for a fun surprise!
