- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1 cup unsalted butter (cold)
- ½ cup warm milk
- 1 egg
For the Filling
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup strawberry jam (optional)
- ½ cup whipped cream or pastry cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for topping)
- 1 egg yolk (for brushing, if baking croissants)
Instructions
Step 1: Preparing the Croissant Dough (Skip if using store-bought croissants)
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Cut cold butter into small cubes and mix it into the flour.
- Add warm milk and egg, then mix until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, then fold it into thirds.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Repeat this rolling and folding process three times.
Step 2: Shaping the Croissants
- Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle (about ¼ inch thick).
- Cut it into triangles with a 5-inch base.
- Roll each triangle from the base to the tip to form a croissant shape.
- Place on a baking sheet and let rise for 1 hour.
Step 3: Baking the Croissants
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush croissants with egg yolk for a golden crust.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before filling.
Step 4: Adding the Strawberry Filling
- Slice croissants horizontally, but don’t cut all the way through.
- Spread a thin layer of strawberry jam inside (optional).
- Add fresh strawberry slices and a spoonful of whipped cream or pastry cream.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a bakery-style finish.

- Short on time? Use store-bought croissants instead of making your own.
- Want extra sweetness? Drizzle with melted chocolate before serving.
