Easy to make, no-bake, they combine the crunch of Rice Krispies with the smoothness of peanut butter and a delicious chocolate layer. Main Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag of mini marshmallows (about 5 cups)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (or generic brand)

For the Chocolate Topping (Optional):

  • 8 oz chocolate chips (about 1 1/3 cups) or chopped chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil (optional, to help melt the chocolate smoothly)

Instructions

Stovetop Method:

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Add the mini marshmallows and peanut butter, stirring until fully combined and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies, mixing gently.
  4. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan.

Microwave Method:

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine butter and marshmallows.
  2. Heat on medium power in 1-minute intervals, stirring between each, until melted.
  3. Stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
  4. Add the Rice Krispies and mix well.
  5. Press into a greased 9×13-inch pan.

Notes

  • For softer peanut butter Rice Krispie treats, use 5 1/2 cups of Rice Krispies.
  • Store at room temperature for up to 3 days.
